A holistic education includes plenty of time for sports and physical activity. At the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka, students enjoy dynamic sports sessions in exceptional facilities, promoting teamwork, fitness and fun.
Explore Sports at AKA Dhaka
Students have the chance to try many sports, both competitive and non-competitive. They might train in athletics, do yoga, learn martial arts or join a sports team. In later years they are able to focus on developing expertise in a few areas, taking on leadership and coaching responsibilities. AKA Dhaka’s campus features a Maidan for football, cricket and volleyball, and an indoor sports zone for table tennis.

Shaping Young Leaders Through Footbal
AKA Dhaka hosted the Inter-School Football Tournament 2024–2025 from 1–2 November under the theme “Unity Through Sports”. Bringing together 15 schools, the event celebrated teamwork, resilience and fair play. Students from Grades 6–12 showcased skill and determination, while volunteers ensured smooth coordination with dedication and enthusiasm. PHE Teacher Mr Amit Ahire praised the players and organisers for their passion and teamwork. The tournament embodied the Academy’s values, uniting young athletes through friendship and sportsmanship.

AKA Dhaka’s basketball team participated in a tournament at the Pledge Harbor International School in Dhaka. The event brought together student-athletes from four schools around Dhaka. One of the highlights was the three intense games where the AKA Dhaka basketball team players played against teams from older age groups.

AKA Dhaka shines bright in chess championship
AKA Dhaka participated in the largest inter-school chess tournament of the year – Marks Active School Chess Champs – where bright young minds across 64 districts competed against each other. School-based teams initially played at the district level, with the winning teams then taking part in the divisional level.
