Student Well-being
We understand the challenges of the IB and of living away from home, and ensure that our students have a well-rounded experience in a safe and supportive environment.
Joining the Family
We welcome students from many countries, cultures, faiths and socio-economic backgrounds. AKA Hyderabad offers them intellectual, social, spiritual and physical growth in a friendly, structured and ethical environment.
Students meet their advisor regularly to discuss learning skills, course selection and other academic aspects of student life, as well as interpersonal relationships. Residential students are also part of a dorm family, eating and socialising together as well as interacting with the rest of the Academy community. A faculty member, based in their residence, is responsible for their well-being and is their first point of call. We also have a counsellor on campus.
Our Health and Wellness Centre has a resident doctor assisted by two nurses. They liaise with local specialists as needed. Transport for medical purposes is available 24/7.
Our staff ensure that the campus is secure and safe, with supervision as needed for off-campus excursions.
Life in the Dorms
"At the heart of residential life is the opportunity to develop independence and self-management. Students learn to take responsibility for their routines within a supportive and caring environment.
Through late-night conversations, shared laughter and celebrating achievements and festivals, students form a second family among their dorm mates. Dorm parents offer warmth and reassurance through everyday interactions. These meaningful interactions help students miss home a little less and feel valued.
Residential life is enriched by social and community events – from dorm parties, weekend social hours and the popular Community Café on Saturday evenings. Sunday Dinners, where students, staff and families come together, beautifully reflect the school’s commitment to connection and community spirit.”

Where Diversity Feels Like Home
“Living in the dorms has been one of the most memorable and meaningful parts of my school life. It’s a space where I’ve learnt to be independent, responsible and open-minded while growing alongside others.
What makes dorm life truly special is its incredible diversity – students from different cultures and traditions come together, creating a vibrant and pluralistic community. We celebrate festivals, share food and stories, and learn about one another’s customs, which has helped me appreciate diversity in a deeper way.
Beyond learning, dorm life is filled with laughter, late-night conversations, group games and moments of joy. It has taught me to build connections, respect differences and value the strength of community.
The dorms have truly become my second home – one filled with culture, friendship and unforgettable memories.”
