Canada’s High Commissioner to India, His Excellency Cameron Mackay, visited the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad campus on Tuesday, 20 September 2022. The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr Kenneth Wong, Canada’s Senior Trade Commissioner (South India) and Mr Vikram Jain, Canada’s Trade Commissioner (Telangana).

They spent time with a group of our Senior School students interested in pursuing tertiary education in Canada and were also briefed on the wide-ranging work of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Telangana.

“Jack of all trades, master of none. But better than the master of one.Talking to the Canadian High commissioner helped me realise that in order to look into the future, I have to look at myself first,” says Student Representative Council (SRC) President, Sujith Bandaru. “I should think about what skills I have, what I am capable of and most of all, what I lack. I realised that being someone with a wide array of life and technical skills will allow me to achieve more going ahead, and so now it has become my motivation to learn about the world around me, and myself.”

For Kashvi Rathore, President of the SRC, interacting with the Canadian High Commissioner allowed her to gain a different perspective on Canada. “The session provided a high-level overview of the academic experience at Canadian Universities as well as general student-life. We were grateful for this opportunity to ask pertinent questions and learn more about life/academics in Canada.”
