The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa held a graduation ceremony on 20 May 2023, celebrating the Class of 2023 and its exceptional and diverse cohort of 76 students. 

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition is a celebration where Grade 5 students are given the opportunity to convey their understanding of topics they care about or the passions they have.

Culture Week at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa is a much-anticipated event that transcends boundaries, bringing together students, teachers and staff to celebrate the rich tapestry of diversity that exists within the school community.

Through Service Learning, students apply classroom knowledge to real community needs. During service learning demonstration days, they present their projects, reflect on their learning journeys and share how the experience has helped them develop skills beyond the classroom.

On 29 March, for the first time ever, the Academy celebrated World Theatre Day. This international celebration draws theatre and the power of this art form into the spotlight, so that all can enjoy what it has to offer. In November 2022, the Parents’ Association raised funds at Zawadi Bazaar to support new Talent Identification Programme students. Through raffles and sponsorships, they contributed towards laptops for scholars, with the Academy covering the remaining cost and future support planned.

To celebrate the importance of reading and to promote the culture of reading, we are proud to celebrate Book Month every year. During Book Month, the Academy organizes various events and activities that encourage reading. These events include book fairs, book swaps, reading challenges, book discussions, and author visits. 

During the midterm break, the Grade 6-8 residential students and the Grade 9 Exchange Programme students from the Aga Khan Academy Maputo and the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad went on a trip to Taita where they had the opportunity to learn about nature, culture, and the importance of conservation. 

Social-emotional learning helps students develop essential life skills that are necessary for their personal and academic success. 

The Inventors Fair marks the end of the Grade 8 unit “What happens when East meets West?” During the unit, students explore how the Silk Road connected people and cultures across continents.

In the exciting "Movement Composition" unit involving dance, acrobatics and gymnastics, Junior School students took the lead in their learning as they developed new skills in their respective year levels.

Students from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa participated in the CANA Zone III Championships in Tanzania from 16-20 November, in which they won 41 medals. 

The Junior School organised a workshop for its parents to showcase a new approach to teaching mathematics called “Maths – No Problem!” (MNP), which is an award-winning education programme for mathematics. 

On 17 November the entire school celebrated the International Day of Peace. The theme for this year was “End racism. Build peace.” 

Junior School students at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa held a music and dance recital on 4 November under the Baobab tree in the Academy's amphitheatre. 

Thirty-five Mazingira Club members took part in the Nairobi International Trade Fair and Mombasa International Show. The club’s performance in both fairs was outstanding; the students were knowledgeable and confident. They came in second overall in Nairobi and first overall in Mombasa. 

Middle Years Programme (MYP) students from the Academy attended the 20th Annual OA Model United Nations conference after undergoing rigorous preparation by the Diploma Programme 2 (DP2) student executives. The student-led enrichment has prepared students since the beginning of the academic year, teaching them about Model UN Resolutions, lobbying, motions and what to do during the conference. Our Junior School students had a fun and colourful day celebrating Navaratri! Students dressed up for the day and during the morning assembly, they learned more about the significance of the festival through song and dance, which wrapped up with everyone participating in garba in the quad! During the month of September, the entire Junior School community was engaged in a range of activities to celebrate Literacy Month. All activities were aimed at encouraging students to spend more time reading and writing as a way of exploring the world, expressing their thoughts and most importantly having fun. Activities included dual-language inter-house spelling bees and read-aloud sessions.

During the summer break, students at AKA Mombasa had the opportunity to intern at various organisations as part of the Internship Programme, which provides students in DP1 meaningful and sustainable career-oriented opportunities in professional fields of their choice. The Internship Fair, set up in a speed-dating style, allowed students to engage in discussion and reflection on the internship journey. 

In honour of International Coastal Cleanup Day, 20 students from the Academy, some of who are a part of Ocean Eyes – a student-led service project focusing on marine conservation projects in Mombasa – participated in a beach cleanup at Kuruwitu beach. Along with cleaning up the beach, Ocean Eyes hoped to also raise awareness on the importance of marine conservation and collaborating with local partners.

On the evening of September 9 the residential community held Colour Run to celebrate the launch of the new floodlights in the field. The floodlights increase the area available for sports and residential activities such as bucketball and capture the flag to take in the evening. 

Diploma Programme 1 student Arya Abdul received the Dr Siva Kumari MYP Student Innovators’ Grant for her project “A Step Forward”, in which she built an easily accessible, environmentally friendly walker. The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa is the only International Baccalaureate (IB)  school in Africa to have students receive this grant every year since its inception in 2019. 

As with every new academic year, we welcomed many new students from many new places to our AKA Mombasa community. Students joined us from various schools around Kenya including Braeburn and Strathmore and from various countries within East Africa and around the world. The one thing they all have in common is that they love being at AKA Mombasa! Some of them tell us what they love about the Academy.

The AKA Mombasa swimming team participated in the Coast region swimming competition held last month. The entire team qualified for the Kenya Nationals taking place in Nakuru later this month.

The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa girls and boys basketball teams took part in the 3 days Secondary School games at Shimo la Tewa. Both teams will be playing in the national championships next month. The girls' team retained their Mombasa County Basketball Champions title for the 11th year running. Read more from the team captain, Grace Ogolla.

Faculty and staff came together for a team-building day to mark the start of the academic year. Through collaborative activities, the event strengthened communication, morale and a shared sense of purpose, reinforcing the Academy’s culture of teamwork.

On 1 August the Great African Cycling Safari (GACS) kicked off their East African tour from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa. Over the course of 55 days, the cyclists will travel through Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda and will re-enter Kenya to complete the safari in Nairobi.

Despite being a cohort that started their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) journey online, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Class of 2022 has received exceptional results in their IB DP examinations.

To celebrate World Donor Day on the 14 of June, the Academy Health and Wellness centre in conjunction with the Aga Khan Hospital set up a blood drive. Students and staff took the opportunity to learn more and donate blood.

The Grade 5 students held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of their Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The Grade 10 students commemorated the end of the Middle Years Programme with a ceremony. During the five-year rigorous programme, students are inspired to understand issues and ideas on multiple levels, locally, nationally, and internationally. 

The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa celebrated 69 exceptional young students at a graduation ceremony on Saturday, 21 May 2022. 

Sports day in the Academy aims to encourage students to have fun, to get active and to work collaboratively in various sporting activities and challenges. Students participated in football, netball, volleyball, basketball badminton, table tennis, floor hockey and water polo. 

The PYP exhibition is the process in which the 5th graders consolidate their primary years of learning through a culminating, in-depth, and collaborative inquiry. Students tackled issues ranging from animal cruelty to decreasing poverty rates in Kenya to implementing creative learning in classrooms to tackling marine pollution.

This week we celebrated Swahili Week at the Academy, which focuses on the role of Swahili in the 21st century! Through the Academy’s academic programme, our Primary Years Programme students learn and appreciate the unique cultures of Kenya. 

A special outdoor screening of the Elephant Queen was held a the Academy last week. Elephant Queen is an inspirational Kenyan film celebrating our wildlife. The internationally acclaimed documentary aims to raise awareness of human-wildlife conflict and increase conservation efforts.

The annual MADD night took place on 26 March 2022. This year’s theme was “The beauty of my world”.

The 10th annual Peace Summit provided an opportunity to a cohort of young enthusiastic peacebuilders to develop ideas and road maps to achieve sustainable goals and be advocates of peace in their communities. 

The DP2 Visual Arts students held their final exhibition, a culmination of their IB DP Art experience.

On Saturday 12 March, the Friends of the Academy organised a golf tournament at the Nyali Golf Club to raise funds for the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Talent Identification Programme (TID). This programme identifies exceptional Grade 6 students across Kenya from marginalised backgrounds and provides them with a full scholarship for seven years to attend the Academy, which is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. 

For their personal projects, students investigate an area of their choosing and interest in order to create a product. Grade 10 student, Arya Abdul, tells us more about her project, “A step forward” in which she built an easily accessible, environmentally friendly walker.

The Teacher Preparation Programme (TPP) is back in session and the new cohort tells us what they are excited about.

On Friday 14 January the Grade 8 students celebrated Inventors Fair to mark the end of the unit “What happens when the east meets west?”, a unit that mainly focuses on the trade, cultures, belief/religious systems, inventions, architecture and significant individuals along the Silk Road. 

At the end of the semester, the Junior School students at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa celebrated Arts Week, an annual celebration in which students showcase their visual arts, music, drama and dance talents. This year’s Arts Week was particularly special as all JS students created an art piece and they all performed on stage together for the first time since school re-opened.

The Aga Khan Academies aim to develop open-minded and pluralistic leaders by equipping students with the tools and opportunities to create positive change in their local communities. One such leadership opportunity is the Student Representative Council (SRC), a peer-elected student body that strives to represent the voices of students while serving as the liaison between the student body and the administration.

Young Farmers, a Junior School Passion Project, provides students with the opportunity to explore their passion for farming and agriculture.

On Monday, 1 November 2021, Diploma Programme (DP) 1 students at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa participated in an introductory session on the extended essay (EE), which is a core component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) DP consisting of an independent, research-based project compiled into a 4,000-word essay.

Raphael Mwachiti has been accepted to the University of British Columbia – Okanagan Campus – to pursue a degree in Computer Science. He Joined the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa in 2015 through the Talent Identification Programme, which provides exceptional students with an international-standard education and leadership opportunities, regardless of their ability to pay.

Hisham Ladha has been accepted to Concordia University in Canada to pursue a Bachelor of Computer Science. Hisham, who joined the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa in Grade 1, is one of four recipients of the Aga Khan Academies  – Concordia University Scholarships.

Faith Ronald has been accepted to Concordia University in Canada to pursue a degree in Psychology. Faith joined the Academy in 2015 through the Talent Identification Programme (TID) and is one of four recipients of the Aga Khan Academies  – Concordia University Scholarships.

Aly Jassani, who joined the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa in 2016, has been accepted to the University of California, Berkeley in the United States to pursue a degree in Financial Economics with a minor in Computer Science. 

In a year filled with unprecedented challenges, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Class of 2021 succeeded nevertheless, achieving excellent results in their International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) studies this year.

Rania will be attending Bowdoin College on a full scholarship to pursue a liberal arts degree in Government and Legal studies with a concentration in International Relations and Education. With an acceptance rate of 9.1%, Bowdoin College is highly selective and is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the United States of America.

Faizaan Alimohamed, who joined the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa in the Diploma Programme in 2019, received the Presidential Scholarship at Boston University to pursue a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.

Ohad Mutua is a recipient of the International Leader of Tomorrow award at the University of British Columbia where he plans to pursue a degree in Economics. 

Based on the U.S. television series on entrepreneurship, a Shark Tank competition took place during the Aga Khan Academies inaugural Climate and Environment Conference for students to present their own environmental initiatives to a panel of judges.

From 28-30 May 2021, the Aga Khan Academies held its inaugural Climate and Environment Conference with over 70 students from across the Academies network in attendance, along with alumni and prominent keynote speakers and guests.

On Saturday, 22 May 2021, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa celebrated its 15th graduating class, a life-changing milestone for the Class of 2021's 72 exceptional students from East Africa and beyond.

AKA Mombasa Junior School students held a week-long exhibition to showcase their passion projects which they've been working on since online learning began, The showcase featured beautiful art pieces, hand-made jewellery, recipe books, posters spreading awareness on environmental issues, and inventions made out of recyclable materials, and more.

AKA Mombasa held presidential elections for the Student Representative Council (SRC) on 26 - 28 April 2021. The peer-elected SRC advocates for the needs and rights of the students and is a platform for individuals to hone their leadership skills. The newly elected presidents, Ayan Charania and Zahra Mamujee in Diploma Programme 1, will lead the council in representing their peers and voicing their challenges. iSEAyou, a CAS group at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, launched a project to promote food security and alleviate poverty by providing healthy, clean and inexpensive sources of food. 

Following in the footsteps of the Class of 2020, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa’s Class of 2021 is continuing a fundraiser to raise money for the Academy's Talent Identification Programme.

The residential community at AKA Mombasa had an exciting carnival which was organised by the Student Representative Council and the Tuck Shop team on 4 April 2021. The carnival was planned for students to engage and have fun during the Easter break.

Students and teachers across the Academies Network connected with each other through a first-ever cross-campus virtual Peace Summit organised by the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa. 

Second year Diploma Programme (DP) art students at AKA Mombasa held an art exhibition from 15 to 19 March 2021 to showcase their artwork collection that they have been working on during their two years in the DP. Held at Tamu balcony, the exhibition was open to other students, staff, and parents who were invited to celebrate the students’ achievements.

Following the resumption of in-person learning at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, Year 6 students carried out their first-ever science investigation as new members of Senior School. They performed a redox reaction experiment under the supervision of science teacher, Mr. Erick Agira, where they tested the effect of Hydrochloric acid on Magnesium metal. The Year 6 students tell us more about their experience.

Salama Minds, or well-being of the minds, is an organisation founded by Khushbu Kotak, a Diploma Programme 2 student at AKA Mombasa. It aims to dismantle the stigma around mental health in Kenya by providing affordable and accessible therapy sessions to individuals between 11 and 22 years, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds. 

Luciano Torriani, a Year 10 student at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has created an inexpensive electricity supply and water purification system. His invention is titled Rural Electrical and Purification Systems (REPS), and is his personal project for the culmination of the Middle Years Programme.  

On International Women’s Day, we ask our Aga Khan Academies community how they choose to challenge gender bias and inequity. 

Sonakshi Roy, a Year 10 student at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has created a natural and organic perfume which has a calming effect and provides anxiety relief. The perfume project is inspired by her growing interest in psychology and addressing mental health issues. AKA Mombasa students won four awards at the annual 39th East African Model United Nations (EAMUN) conference which took place online from 22 to 26 February 2021.

As part of his personal project, ‘Zanzibar - The Solar Island’, Maaher Bhaloo, a Year 10 student at AKA Mombasa proposed for the government of Zanzibar to adopt renewable energy as opposed to using fossil fuels to power up Zanzibar island so as to compensate for the limited access to electricity for many of the island’s local households.

Student-led creativity, activity, service (CAS) group iSEAyou has been holding virtual masterclass sessions with the aim to promote ecological and economic sustainable development. The sessions, which also included global environmentalists, entailed discussions on various environmental issues such as climate change and possible solutions to address them for the betterment of the planet. On Thursday 7 January, the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa commenced in-person learning for the Junior School, with Year 1 and Year 4 students being welcomed onto campus. This marks the beginning of a phased reopening process for the school, which had previously held fully online instruction.

Project Pluralism is an initiative by Diploma Programme 2 student, Rayyan Khan, whose objective is to forge connections between students of diverse backgrounds, bring attention to prevalent social issues and develop plans of action to address them.

On 22 October 2020, E-Sports, a virtual enrichment founded by Diploma Programme (DP) 2 students Arshman Balouch and Hisham Ladha, held an online gaming event dubbed ‘Among Us and Chill’, where students played against each other in a video game tournament.

At the beginning of July, the Aga Khan Academies launched a holiday programme designed to give students productive ideas for activities they could undertake at home over the summer in order to build relevant skills such as critical and creative thinking.

Six students from AKA Mombasa qualified for the regional Kenya Science and Engineering Fair competition after successfully competing in the County-level competition. 

The Academy’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams defended their titles at the Mombasa County basketball games in March 2020. Both teams recorded decisive wins throughout the tournament, including strong victories in the finals at Shimo La Tewa.

Between 28-30 November, five students from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa participated in the Confédération Africaine de Natation (CANA) Zone III Swimming Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Two of those students also participated and won accolades at an Open Water event on 1 December in the city.

The three-month Academies Exchange Programme came to an end last week with immense splendor and joy. The AKA Mombasa community bid farewell to the 17 students from AKA Hyderabad with warmth, affection and memories.

Mombasa teachers Lucy Mwandawiro and Dorcas Kisilu visited the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad for two weeks as part of the teacher exchange programme. Read about their visit and the advantages the exchange gives to teachers and the Academies.

Five students from AKA Mombasa participated in the Kenya National Youth Chess Championships. 

Competing against 200 participants, six students from the Academy participated in the Golden Climate International Environmental Project Olympiad and won a place in their category.

Friday 11th March 2016 saw the first Inter-House Chess Competition in AKA Mombasa history. However, this was no ordinary competition, as the chess pieces were actually students!

Year 6 students partake in an educational trip to a mosque, a temple, and a church to learn about religious identity, local history, and pluralism in Mombasa. 

As part of the EGIS project, students at Jomvu Girls High School created a detergent and disinfectant in their science lab and sold it in their community! 

The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa students have exceeded expectations this year by winning four first place awards at the 89th edition of the Kenya Music Festival held early August in Kisumu. 

This year’s graduating class is the most successful in AKA, Mombasa history, scoring an average of 34.4 points and earning over $4.1 million in scholarships and financial aid. 

In June, the athletes from the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa competed in events that showcased their incredible athletic abilities.

For the past three years, the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa has hosted the KRCS Luncheon Party. This year, in addition to the fifty-year celebration of the Kenya Red Cross, they also celebrated the 35th Annual Luncheon Party.

Last week the Coast Regional Music Festival culminated on 3rd July, 2015, with the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa’s Voices for Change emerging head and shoulders over the rest of the participants.

On 8th June 2015, the Year 5 students at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa held their PYP Exhibition. 

On 29th May 2015, the Aga Khan Academy held a school-wide Swahili Day celebration under the theme Kiswahili: Ngao Yetu (Kiswahili: Our Shield).

On 15–17 May 2015, 13 students from AKA, Mombasa’s Junior School represented the Academy at the Kenya Swimming Federation (KSF) Junior Championships.

Bill is an educator and school leader with over forty years’ experience. Before joining our Academy he has led schools in the USA and China and is known as a strong strategic thinker.

Ruhi Manek, a member of the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa's Class of 2016, was recently recognized at the Pearson High Achievers Ceremony in Nairobi for her outstanding performance in her IGCSE examinations.

From 13th to 15th April 2015, the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa hosted a group of students and teachers from various public schools as part of the Educating Girls in Sciences (EGIS) Project.

From 05 to 07 March 2015, the Senior Boys and Girls Basketball teams took on other schools from around Mombasa County in the Mombasa Secondary School Games. 

On 08 January 2015, the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa hosted the MISL (Mombasa International School League) Athletics Inset which involved various sports representatives from schools in the League.

Friday 13 March, 2015 brought out the creativity of our Senior School fashion designers and models as they each vied for a coveted footing to climb to the top of the House Championship ladder.

The Everyday Mombasa project, launched in collaboration with international journalists involved in Everyday Africa, involved the Academy as well as other local students working together to dispel stereotypes about the community.

On Friday, 17 January, the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa was honoured by a visit from Prince Rahim Aga Khan and Princess Salwa.

Harsev Oshan graduated in 2009 from the Academy and is currently making his mark at the University of British Columbia (UBC) winning a Faces of Today award at the prestigious 2014 UBC Student Leadership Conference.

The Academy is now winding down from four marvellous days of celebration for its tenth anniversary.

Saturday saw the Academy teeming with people as we mounted our biggest Bazaar to date as part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations. 

The Junior School Student Representative Council has successfully managed its first initiative: an ambitious project aimed at changing the way we view and use disposable plastic cups for the good of the environment.

Indiance was a wonderful celebration of Diwali and other Indian festivals. 

The Academy hosted the Junior CASA Gala over the weekend and in particular we are delighted to congratulate Tiana Vora who won ten events over the two-day meet.  

The Academy has been selected by Microsoft as one of only 80 outstanding Mentor Schools worldwide and is the only school in Kenya to receive this prestigious award.

On Saturday the Commons came alive to the sound of music when the Safaricom Choir came to visit. 

Over recent weeks, Academy swimmers and sports teams have  achieved excellent results.

Our annual Residential Cultural Night, a delight for the eyes and ears, was held on Saturday evening.

Last year our top maths students once again entered the American Scholastic Mathematics Association (ASMA) competition and finished in the top ten places. 

The Academy campus is always a busy place but this weekend was exceptional.  

 A team of student volunteers assisted as ball catchers at the National Sitting Volleyball women’s team selection competition held over the weekend. 

A ceremony of remembrance, love and solidarity, organised by the Uhai CAS group, was held outside the Commons last evening.

On 20 September 2013, the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Minister for Human Resource Development in the presence of His Highness the Aga Khan.

Teams from the Academy have already enjoyed several successes on the sporting scene early in this new Academic year. 

Our top achiever in the IB Diploma scored 41 points out of a possible 45, and two of our MYP students achieved top honours with 64 out of 70 points.

On Thursday night the Academy community had an opportunity to attend a wonderful display of student singing in solos, duets, trios, ensembles and choral items, as students who had recently taken part in the Kenya Music Festival showed off their achievements.

Since 2010, the Academy has partnered with Concordia University to pilot ABRACADABRA, a digital literacy programme supporting early English learning. The initiative has improved literacy outcomes, strengthened teacher practice and expanded to schools across Kenya.

Alyssa Jamal, a Year 3 student received an award for her art from the President of Kenya, His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta.

Academy students won four top-three placings including two firsts at the recent 2013 Kenya Music Festival held in Nakuru.

Junior School has begun a busy term with parent meetings and a very special assembly.

The PYP Exhibition has a great buzz of the enjoyment of learning – in this case, through self-directed research by the Year 6 students.

Swahili Day is a day for celebrating the colourful clothing, tasty bitings, henna painting, music and all things Swahili. 

The Class of 2013 is the largest graduating IB diploma class in the 10-year history of the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa. The graduation was an exciting and memorable moment, with meaningful speeches, music, and a grand celebration of the graduates' and the community's achievements thus far.

Last week it was Shakespeare, this week it was a massive party and next week it’s graduation—the Academy Commons is a busy place! 

The Academy received four merit awards in the recent Global Virtual Classroom website design contest.

The Commons’ stage came alive on Saturday evening with a performance of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. 

Recently our swimmers have successfully competed in two important events: the CASA combined championships held here at the Academy and the CANA Championships held in Lusaka, Zambia.

Undoubtedly a highlight of the year, MAD Night brought together music, art, dance, drama, and more than a little magic, from within the Academy as well as from other Mombasa schools.

On Saturday evening, a large audience in the Academy Commons was treated to a superb fashion show, all modelled by Academy students, and all in the good cause of raising funds for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

Last evening saw the first performance of Simba’s Pride, a wonderful musical involving the entire Junior School. 

Over the weekend there were sports taking place everywhere you looked at the Academy. 

It has been an action-packed couple of weeks here at the Academy. 

During the week of 21–26 January, a group of 21 students took the Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) conference by storm. 

Just before the end of last term five students from the Academy had the privilege to travel to Geneva. 

A busy term rushed to a successful close with a multitude of events taking place in December.

It was a joyful occasion yesterday when 98 educators, from schools across Kenya, graduated from professional development programmes in educational management and training in English at The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa.

It was a busy and enjoyable weekend on the sports fields at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa. 

Recent musical and sporting events are a testament to the vibrant Aga Khan Academy community.

This year’s Junior School Diwali assembly was a glorious and colourful exposé of the rich cultural and traditional expressions of India. 

DP1 and Year 10 students Mwende and Njeri Mwengi are firm believers they can change the world through their music.
