Students enjoy a warm and supportive campus environment within a culture based on respect, integrity, honesty, fairness, empathy and good humour. Our excellent facilities are set within surroundings designed to offer students all they need to learn and grow.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Many of the most important elements of an education – the development of practical leadership skills, the capacity to make ethical judgments and the ability to navigate through complex cultural settings – are formed outside the classroom. Mealtimes and other gatherings provide the opportunity for students to talk, study and relax with each other. Our residential programme enables them to continue building these connections with others, as well as to take advantage of the facilities and activities on offer.

The residences provide a safe home-like environment for students studying far from their home countries.
Students share meals together in the Commons, where they eat, chat and unwind.
Residential lounges offer shared spaces with views of the Indian Ocean.
There are plenty of activities during the week and weekend which promote a strong sense of belonging.
Senior School students play chess in the library during their free time.
There are many sports facilities for students to use during the week and the weekend.
A Home From Home
We host our students on a secure campus, with appropriate safeguards on and off-site. They learn independence in many ways, from time management to doing their laundry, but have a supportive system of advisors, dorm parents and other staff to rely on, and plenty of opportunity to communicate with their families.

Leading, Supporting and Belonging
“Being a Residential Captain has shaped who I am. I have always felt supported by my Residential Parents and fellow Captains, but I soon learnt that some skills, such as managing my time, had to be developed independently. Working with my peers, mentoring others and helping new students connect with staff has been incredibly rewarding. I have learnt to stay calm in critical moments and to be someone others can rely on. Planning events that strengthen our residential community has also helped me grow.
These experiences have made me more open-minded, caring and reflective, and they have allowed me to explore issues I am passionate about, such as gender inequality through the Gender, Media and Culture enrichment. I am grateful for this opportunity and the skills it has given me.”
